Hemptech… weaving mother nature into modern design…

via Hemptech

The search for a fashionable textile that is both natural and innovative in design has been a long time search for many interior designers and home decorators. Finally a high quality product has arrived, that is not only cutting edge in its design but is also a sustainable product. Hemptech creates original high quality natural fabrics from within their New Zealand Design Studio for the Australasian soft furnishing and interior design industry.

But what do we mean exactly by natural fibres? Well for Hemptech, this equates to products that have been gifted by nature, which they then weave into beautiful fabrics to enhance either modern or traditional interiors. The new Hemptech range is a 37% hemp and 63% New Zealand wool mix, making it 100% natural fibres with New Zealand design and manufacture.

Why hemp? The natural, sustainable and durable qualities of hemp and wool combine to make a fabric for the future.
“It’s about embracing the natural. It’s about relishing the beauty. It’s about treading lightly on the planet,” says Hemptech director Mark Lucas.
“Pure New Zealand wool woven together with the age old fibre, Hemp gives Molesworth a special character that will give many years of pleasure.”

Hemptech was a feature at the recent Decoration + Design trade show in Melbourne.
